Car Wreck Collision Kills Calloway County Resident Stephen McReynolds.

MURRAY, Ky. — Stephen McReynolds, 40, of Murray died Monday evening in a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Ky. 94 West and Ky. 1660 (Johnny Robertson Road), state police said.

Witnesses told police McReynolds was proceeding through a green light at Ky. 1660 when his 2000 Mercury was hit in the side by a 1999 Ford van driven by Jamie Mills, 36, of New Concord, police said. Mills, who was driving west on Ky. 94, had a red light, police said. She was not injured.

McReynolds died at the scene.

The above facts point out the dangers on some of the highways in Western Kentucky. On several occasions this year there have been tragic accidents on Highway 94 in Calloway County. As a person who travels through these highways everyday each week I can understand that it could be the site of such a tragic accident. It is definitely one of many dangerous highways in Western Kentucky that must be navigated with caution.

Speed, Alcohol and Driver inattention to Red Lights and Stop Signs are the leading causes of Wrongful Death in Western Kentucky as well as Car Wrecks in Kentucky.
Running a Red Light is a violation of Kentucky Criminal Law and in this case could lead to a Kentucky Civil Suit against the Negligent Driver.

The Family of Stephen McReynolds will no doubt have a Civil Case for Kentucky Wrongful Death. They can make a claim for his lost earnings capacity, Resonable Funeral Expenses and Pain and Suffering. At this point all of the facts are not known. In situations such as this it can take weeks, months or even years to discover exactly what happened.

In Case such as this, the Kentucky State Police or the Calloway County Sheriffs Office must open a Kentucky Death Investigation Case. Sometimes the result of these investigations can stay open for months.

As a Paducah Kentucky Wrongful Death Attorney, I do these type of investigations everyday for our clients as an alternative to the State Police or County Sheriff's Investigation. A Kentucky Car Wreck Lawyer must uncover known and unknown facts that can lead to the Prosecution of a Wrongful Death Claim or lead us not to prosecute a case for a client.

One thing is for sure. If you or a family member has been involved in a case such as this, you will want to hire a Lawyer as soon as practicable. The sooner the Attorney can start their investigation the better the chances of the outcome.
