Kentucky Victims of Wrongful Death Should Learn From Tennessee Car Show Lawsuits

A Fourth Wrongful Death Lawsuit is Filed On Behalf Of Car Show Victim

The parents of Brooke Pope, a 20-year-old that was killed in the Deadly Car Show in Selmer Tennessee last month, have filed a lawsuit against the Driver, the racing team, event organizers and the town of Selmer. The death occured when a drag racing car wetn spinning out of control on June 16, 2007. The Pope's are seeking $10 Million in damage from their Tennessee Wrongful Death Lawsuit.

It has only been one month since the tragic Car Show Wreck in Selmer Tennessee took the lives of some six people and injured another 23. Paducah Kentucky Wrongful Death Attorney Daryl T. Dixon thinks there are lessons in this tragic event to be learned by all Kentuckians.

First, Car shows of this magnitude and the towns that host them need to put in place much stricter safety measures. This tragic accident was forseeable and is sure to be taken up in the Tennessee Stae Legislature and many other State Legislatures around the Country. Further, the drivers and race teams and their safety measures are sure to be analyzed.

The lesson to be learned by the Victims is the lesson of acting quickly. As a Paducah Kentucky Personal Injury Attorney that specializes in Wrongful Death I know how emotional the period after the death of a loved one is. Trust me when I tell you that no one knows this as well as I do. However, there is much evidence and investigation to be conducted from a legal standpoint and time is of the essence. Witnesses, Officers, Emergency Personel all seem to forget as time goes by.
The value of the family members' claims can be drastically affected by the amount of time lapsed after the tragedy and the amount of evidence lost.

Kentucky Victims of Wrongful Death can learn from the lessons of those families who have been victimized by these Tennessee Car Show Crashes. At this time, one month after the tragedy, there have been Four Wrongful Death Cases filed and Six Personal Injury Cases filed. A total of 85 Million Dollars is being sought to compensate the families of those killed and those that were injured.
